Saturday 10th of July is the date for your diary and it promises to be top night out. Doors open at 5.30pm and Beyond the Grave hit the stage at 6pm prompt so make sure you are in the venue in good time to catch one of the finest metal acts the Northeast has to offer. Blitzkrieg have been confirmed for this years Hard Rock Festival in Prestatyn North Wales at Pontins

The band last played there in 2008 and return to the festival in December 2010 , the billing also includes UFO , Michael Schenker Group , Saxon , Uriah Heep , Diamondhead , Helloween plus many more

Billing also includes headliners Diamondhead , along with Solstice , Enforcer and Dark Quarterer

The festival is to be held on 26th/27th November 2010 at Altes Wasserwerk in Lorrach

Blitzkrieg will play the 02 Academy in Newcastle along with fellow North East Metallers Vendetta , Chaos Asylum and Beyond The Grave on Saturday 10th July

Blitzkrieg have been confirmed as one of the bands for this years Bang Your Head Festival warm up show in Balingen Germany, along with headliners Saxon , Demon and Roxxcaliber they will play the Volksbank Messe on the festival grounds on Thursday 15th July for An Evening of NWOBHM

ENGL is a German company that makes high-end tube amplifiers for electric guitars. Over the years ENGL has succeeded in becoming a global player in this market.Notable users include: Michael Romeo, Ritchie Blackmore, Steve Morse, Scorpions, Glenn Tipton, Craig Goldy, Jeff Loomis, and Chris Broderick.

Blitzkrieg was formed in Leicester in October 1980. Their first demo, made in November that year, secured them their first recording deal with Neat Records resulting in the famous Blitzkrieg/Buried Alive single & a track on the Lead Weight compilation album. In 1985 the band released their single, "Your Move" on Neat/Roadrunner. Also in 1985 a fledgling Metallica covered the song "Blitzkrieg" on their Creeping Death EP and again years later when Metallica again covered the Blitzkrieg track on their Live Shit box set & their 1998 album Garage Inc.

The band has gone through a few lineup changes over the 27 years they have been going but band leader Brian Ross remains at the core. With the power house of current members, Ken Johnson (guitar), Guy Laverick (Guitar), Phil Brewis (Drums) and Paul Brewis (Bass) being the bands strongest line up to date.

They have been gigging extensively throughout 2005 and 2006 and on into 2007 touring with both Saxon and Doro in the UK as well as several European festivals to much critical acclaim.In 2007 the band signed to Armageddon Music in Germany and released their first album for the label entitled ..Theatre of the Damned’, a main stage slot at Wacken Open Air followed in that year as well as other European festivals and indoor dates.

2010 sees the band gearing up for their 30th anniversary year with live dates and a new album release in the works
